Any word on why the new 4.1 public beta is running much slower than previous versions did?

I'm just moving between images etc, nothing fancy, but it really feels like its "dragging" a lot of the time.

Can we expect this to be improved or is it the a known trade-off for the new features in version 4.X?

Thanks in advance

Can you provide your platform info. What sort of operations are we talking about. Have you attempted the usual sorts of things, like recreating previews, purging the ACR cache, etc.

Is your catalogue on a local partition? What about the ACR cache?

HI John
Platform: Windows 7
8Gb ram
3.2Ghz
Intel core i5
64 bit.

From my expereince so far pretty much all functions are running slowly (i.e. rendering pictures takes a lot longer when moving between them)

I've purged cashe, no difference.
No settings altered on PC from running v3.6 to this version.

Thanks

Sadly, you might need to delete your preview folder an re-render all your previews to get this working.

Just delete from the HD? and re-open Lr? whats the easiest way to get Lr to recreate all deleted previews?
thanks

Well, just to be safe I'd rename the lrdata folder, not delete it.

Then, go into LR, select all photographs, Library - render previews - render standard previews and then in the dialog by select render all previews. Then go to be.

OK
deleted the previews etc. But it still appears that Lr4 is running noticeably slower than v3.6.

Can someone from Adobe comment on what has changed to cause this, and if this slowness is "baked in" or it something that can be addressed in an update version?

Thanks in advance
