Lightroom 4.1 pauses on rendering previews

I have run into issues with Lightroom pausing when rendering previews. This occurred on Lightroom 4.0 and also occurs with Lightroom 4.1. I've also seen it on different computers (all running Mac OS X 10.7 Lion). In short Lightroom will appear to hang when rendering previews--however, selecting all images from the current import will "unpause" and rendering previews will complete.

The first issue is with rendering the preview for a movie shot with an iPhone 4S. This was the first movie imported into the catalog and others have imported without issue. I can't tell if this is due to a corrupt file or due to the fact that it was the first movie.

The second issue is more persistent and occurs when importing images shot with either a Leica M9 or a Leica X1 (the images are RAW+JPG). For each shoot with either of these cameras Lightroom will pause when rendering the 4th preview. Again, selecting all images from the import will start the previews rendering again. Note: I have not had this issue occur when rendering previews shot with other cameras.

As I've seen this issue with both 4.0 and 4.1 and on multiple computers I wanted to report it. There is a workaround (the select all method) but having the previews render without this needing to take place would be ideal.
