Lightroom 4.1 on both Mac Lion 10.7.4 and Windows 7 x64

Selecting a CR2 image (Canon 5D mark III) in Lightroom and choosing "Edit in Photoshop CS6" does not launch the "What to Edit" dialog. For both operating systems, Photoshop does launch. On the Mac the image is NOT loaded into Photoshop. On the Windows platform the image with Lightroom adjustments is loaded into Photoshop.

Images from other cameras and JPEG images do launch the "What to Edit" dialog.

These are both fresh installations of Lightroom 4.1 on new installations of Windows and Mac OS X.

It is intended that no dialog appears for the "Edit in PS" command (primary editor) for a raw or DNG because there would be no choice between "edit copy with adjustments", "edit copy" and "edit original" (a raw/DNG can only be edited as a TIFF/PSD-copy with LR adjustments). Stacking can be configured in the preferences from LR4 on, so there is no choice, too. The only questionable thing about that behaviour is that you cannot change the file settings on the fly for the current edit (only in preferences).

However, it is definitely a problem that on the Mac the image is not loaded into PS. However, I have no answer to that... sorry. Did you update Photoshop to ACR 7.1? Perhaps that will help.

LRuser24: Thank you for your response. I just checked RAW files from other cameras and you are correct, the "Edit in PS" dialog is not presented. I never noticed this before.

As to your question: Yes, ACR7.1 is installed in CS6 on both the Mac and PC. I posted a separate question for Photoshop CS6: double-clicking on a CR2 image in mini-Bridge does not launch Camera Raw nor does it load an image into Photoshop on the Mac. This works perfectly on the Windows box. Perhaps they are related.
