Lightroom 4.1: discrepancy with adjustment speed between Library and Develop modules

Win 7x64, LR 4.1, C2Duo with 8GB,

To reproduce

1. Select some previously untouched raw file (.rw2 in my case) in the library, preview it in 1:1
- the 'Loading' takes quite some time, probably (?) developing then generating 1:1 preview...
2. Now in the Quick Develop panel, change WB (e.g. auto)
- the 'Loading' takes again a lot of time (why?), the WB changes half-way.
3. Switch to Develop module.
- the 1:1 preview is retained / displayed instantly
4. Change again the WB (e.g. flash)
- the 1:1 preview is updated instantly with the new WB colors
5. Back to Library module
- the 1:1 preview does not change, no 'Loading'. However the miniature thumbnail in the bottom bar displays three dots for several seconds without exhibiting any change (huh?!)
6. In the Quick Develop panel, change WB (e.g. tungsten)
- the 1:1 preview lags behind for about two seconds, then the 'Loading' phase once again takes a while.

I guess this difference in 'snappiness' between both "modules" is a feature; any adjustment made in the Library module leading to a redemosaicing/developing/adjustment of a raw file, whereas in Develop mode changes are applied instantly to always the same 1:1 preview.
However the short lag before any 'Loading' takes place in Library module seems harder to explain.
