Upgraded to Lightroom 4.0 from 3.0. Do not have my plug ins, User Presets in Printer and Develop modules when bringing in my previous catalog. Why? Why weren't all my settings, preferences, plug ins etc etc copied with the upgrade? This is a horrible upgrade solution. I talked live with customer support. They said, call us back in a few days! WHAT! I paid $79 for a product with know n bugs?!!

Plug-ins are not necessarily going to work when going up a release. You have to add these in by hand, as far as I can see.

Presets follow the catalogue, so once you import a catalogue, you should have those back. Preferences should just be loaded from the default location, though I don't doubt that the right circumstances could keep it from being loaded.

Start with the basics: platform, what steps you've taken to get your Lr 3 catalogue into Lr 4.

On initial startup you should have been given a dialogue that asked you where you wanted your new Lr 4 catalogue, and what previous catalogue to use to populate it.
