I,m a beginner. How do I start? Are there a set of steps to guide me through the start of Lightroom 3?

Perhaps you are asking for a suggested "workflow" using Lightroom 3.

The basic steps each time you have new pictures might be:

1 - Import - drag-and-drop onto the Library Module main area or use File / Import and find the images. You can also import directly from the memory card.
2 - Examine/Rate/Cull/Keyword - using the Library module
3 - Adjust - using the Develop module
4 - Export/Publish - using File / Export or create a publish collection to update an online gallery

Try the Lightroom channel on http://tv.adobe.com/ where some things might be explained more for LR 2 but the high-level steps are the same.

Look at the Useful Links section at http://www.lightroomqueen.com/
