Lightroom 3 Bug

I am using ver 3.4.1 and this is bug is also confirmed by others on 3.4.1 and 3.4, not sure about other versions.

Scenario:

In lightroom slideshow I have been exporting multiple images of wedding books for clients to view as PDF's for a long time. But I want to export a single image (another version of just the cover of an album) as a pdf. I change the option of "use : all photos" to "use : selected photos" and then export as PDF.

What should happen:

A PDF is created with just the image that you have selected.
(You can export one image with "use : flagged photos" so you should be able to export one image with "use : selected images".)

What actually happens:

A PDF of all images is created.

Work around:

If you need to export a single image as a PDF you need to have the image you want as the only flagged photo and change to "use : flagged photos" and then export as PDF and you get your single image in a pdf.

I hope that this is corrected in the next version.

That's an interesting use of the Slideshow module. Can I ask why you're doing it that way?

(I'm not suggesting it's not a bug, just interested in possible workarounds)

Hi VIctoria

By using the slideshow this way I can maintain a praticular template for slideshows (including identity plate) and insert the appropriate images I want my clients to see, (in this case just a single copy of their wedding book cover), in the same consistant format. It's normally simple and easy until you want to export just the one image.

I can go into my work flow more if you need more clarification.

Interesting use case Michael. So usually there would be more than 1 photo? If 1 photo is a regular occurrence, the Print module was the other thought that crossed my mind, combined with a PDF printer, but I guess that might not work as well for multiple photos.

As you can see it isn't behaving as it should. I have a work around which I have posted above. But it would be nice if this was corrected to work so that if you have one selected it exports one and not all images.

Don't worry, I'm not arguing about whether it's a bug or not. Just trying to understand the scenario (and understanding the scenario could be a factor in prioritization of the bug fix too, so worth talking about)
