Lightroom: 3.4.1 has stopped importing all file types

My Lightroom 3 has just stopped importing. I am told that every file has an error. However, if I manually go into the library and copy in the raw or jpg files, then synchronize the catalog, Lightroom "sees" them, and it works just fine. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Lightroom completely, and it still has the same problem. I'm stuck and not sure what to do next.

Importing from where? Direct from a camera, perhaps?

Yes, I would also ask, where are you importing from? A connected camera? A camera card in a card reader? A hard drive? And what are your import settings? Are you copying on import, or moving, or adding, or converting to DNG? What is the error you get? Does it just say "the file has an error" or is it more specific than that? What camera were these files shot with? Are you on Mac or Windows?

Thanks,
Ben

Just had this same problem with LR 3.6
Card reader, direct from camera, Canon S95 or Nikon D700, doesn't matter which file format.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Does this happen with all files? or just from the reader/camera? Can you import files that are on the desktop for example?

I rebooted and it started to import.
2 days later it stopped again.
