I can ́t move folders inside Lightroom 3.4.1 on new Mac OS X Lion. I get this (German) message: "Verschieben des Ordners konnte nicht fertiggestellt werden. Ein unbekannter Fehler ist aufgetreten."

Is this a Bug? Did work on OS X 10.6

That you get an error message in German is the odd thing here. Google translate this as being an unknown error moving the folder. As you say, works fine under 10.6.8, just tried it. I suspect its Lion which has changed things around in terms of folder access (the user library is hidden for example). Could be a permissions issue. Might try fixing them. Where are you trying to move the folder?

Could be a Lion bug. I tried to move the folder in the folders view (left side) of the "Library" tab: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6037571/Bilds...

I drag & droped the folder from "Macintosh HD > Fotos" to "Drobo > Fotos > 2010".
I tried to drag different folders, did a restart, restarted the entire Drobo. Nothing works. Drag and drop folders inside the Finder (from HD to Drobo) works as expected.

thx for taking a look at this! :o)

Moving a folder (via the Folders panel in Library) from the internal hard drive to an external drive works just fine for me in Lion.

I just have a plain USB drive, I don't have a Drobo to test with. It seems possible that this problem might involve Drobo specifically. Have you verified that your Drobo is using the latest firmware and software? http://www.drobo.com/support/updates.php

Thanks,
Ben

Yes, Drobo say ́s it has the newest soft- and firmeware: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6037571/Bilds...

It ́s connected via FireWire 800. In Finder all works fine.

One more thing, the filesystem on the Drobo is HFS+

Here ́s a small screencast showing my problem. Maybe it ́s a damaged ligthroom-library-file? I ́ve always let Lightroom optimise it.
I ́ve tested to create a new folder "Test" and copy a folder there. That works, but not into an existing folder. Take a look at the video:

If I can help fix this, let me know!

Ok, you can close this report! After long searching the I-Net I finally got it working. Seem ́s something changed the folder rights -> http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6037571/Expor...

Didn ́t know this "rights" feature. And only Lightroom accessed/managed this folder. Don ́t know why this happened.

But it would be nice, if Lightroom would tell me, that it don ́t had "write rights" on these folder when moving files. The info "unknown error" was tricky. ;o)

thx for your help! André
