LIGHTROOM - taking 100% CPU time and getting slower with use

This is still happening. It's been happening for as long as I've been a Lightroom user. And seriously, it REALLY NEEDS FIXING.

Just while culling, rating, labelling, keywording, etc, through a set of pictures, Lightroom becomes slower and slower and slower. At one point, Lightroom will be so slow that it's no longer in a workable state. At that point, the workaround is to simply restart Lightroom and it'll be snappy like a kitten again.

(at least, LR6 doesn't crash like LR5 did, [profanity removed])

This is disruptive for a smooth workflow, and it drains the battery on my laptop. Neither are very good for anything.

This happens on Lightroom 6.4, Windows 10.

Try disabling the GPU acceleration option.

On some builds of Intel graphics card drivers there is a memory leak issue, common on the HD4000 models. After a number of hours Windows will popup with a "Out of memory, shutdown some applications" error. This is actually the graphics driver memory leak rather than Lightroom. Your slow down may by a symptom of this.

By disabling GPU acceleration the memory leak doesn't appear to be triggered.
It does appear the very latest updates to W10 seem to have improved this situation and I haven't had the leak manifest in the past 4 weeks.

Of course if you're not using an Intel HD graphics card then all this is irrelevant and I have no suggestions sorry :)
