Lightroom "synchronize folder" does not terminate and takes a lot of CPU.

Right-click on Pictures and chose Synchronize folder.

Pictures folder contains 17,000 files and is on an external hard drive. Speed is not the issue: tested speed; write speed is more than 65Mo/sec, read speed is higher - more than 100Mo/sec.

The external disk was on a NTFS file system initially. Yesterday I converted it to a FAT32 partition. All files remained exactly equal (I had a backup disk to confirm files where the same - binary/hash comparison). I also defragmented the disk.

I tried the same operation before vacations (perhaps 1 month ago). And it worked fine. My hard drive was still in NTFS at this time.

Screenshot of the issue:

Important note: this issue only occurs id I activate the option "Scan For Metadata Updates".

Also, the sync finishes 1 day after I started it.

In my pic folder, I have JPEGs, RAW, NEF and DNG files.

And 1 day after the sync completed, I cannot close Lightroom because of this message:

I have a journal file that is about 2Mo.
