Lightroom: Synced collections don't sort correctly after restart

A synced collection sorted by Last Comment Time doesn't properly sort after LR is restarted. The workaround is to click the Sort Direction button twice to restore the correct order (provided you remember about the bug).  (LR CC 2015.7 / OS X 10.11.5)

This bug seems to occur only with synced collections -- I couldn't reproduce it on other collections.   To reproduce:

1. Select a synced collection and set its sort order to Last Comment Time, reversed.

2. Exit and restart LR.

3. When LR first restarts, notice that the tool-bar order is first set to Capture Time, and the pics in the collection are in some random order, not sorted by Last Comment Time and not sorted by Capture Time:

4. After a few seconds, LR updates the status bar to indicate the collection is a synced collection and it changes the tool bar Sort to Last Comment Time, though the order of the pics remains incorrect:

5. Clicking the Sort Direction button twice correctly sorts the pics by Last Comment Time:

Hi John,

I tested on Win 7 , Mac 10.12
However, I am not able to reproduce what you are seeing.
I can see that it changes to Capture time for few seconds before switching to Last comment time after restart. However, the order that was there earlier, is still the same even after restart.
Is this happening all the time ? Were you seeing anything different in the earlier version ?

Thanks,
Arjun

This happens repeatedly on both Mac 10.11.5 and Windows 10, with different catalogs and different photos. When I tested with Windows 10, I allowed LR to delete all the synced photos on LR Mobile.

In your testing, make sure that the Capture Time order is different from the Last Comment Time order.

I don't know if it happened in earlier versions.

I wonder if this is related to this bug: https://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/sort-by-capture-time-5gbguiycaa101?topic-repl...

In both, the LR user interface is failing to re-sort the displayed photos (a classic UI bug).
