Lightroom for mobile: Sync Problems and Possible Solutions

I've seen that many people suffer from the same problem as me:
- Sync slow or stuck
- Sync on desktop saying it is syncing X photos, but appearing as question marks (partially synced) on mobile/web
- Sync not working at all

Most of these problems can be fixed if we had the option to re-sync one folder (collection) at a time.
isn't it possible to have some kind of diagnostic/fix button to scan and find the reason why it's stuck? At least inform us which image/folder it's stuck on, and we can then click the eventual "re-sync" button, that deletes smart previews from the sync folder, remakes them and tries to upload again.

It's really tiresome to delete dozens of gigs of data from the sync folder, from the web, stop/restart the smart previews and different sync options to finally have Lightroom somehow work as advertised.
It's hard to trust this going forward, especially when adding thousands of photos from a specific shoot expecting the ability to cull them the following day on mobile/web ...

Another problem: No matter what folder we set in Preferences>Lightroom Mobile>Location, it doesn't respect that option and reverts to the default location.
Unsure if this is a problem only with external hard drives, but it's a big shame, as all older versions of Lightroom worked perfectly when we set up a different location for the catalogue and caches.
Can you fix this please?

thank you.

In Lightroom Desktop, go into Preferences, Lightroom Mobile, and hold down the Alt/Option key. You'll see a button tot generate a diagnostic log. You can view it in a web browser.

Another log can be generated in Mobile by tapping the Lightroom icon.

Within the same Lightroom mobile Preferences, Lr 2015.6.1 also shows the pending sync activities. That could explain what Lr mobile sync is doing.
