Lightroom Slideshow won't play.  It gets stuck in Preview on Slide #109/162.  On "Play" it just gets stuck on the first slide.  It did play before...

Using Macbook (yes, vintage 2008) with SSD hard drive and LR 6.9.  Help, I need this for an anniversary present.

Have you tried to update to the latest version, 6.12 for free? I think you need to install Adobe program manager to do that. Don't worry that it show Lightroom cc. You still have the stand alone.

You may first try to uncheck the GPU (disable use of graphics processor) in Preferences > Performance, restart Lightroom and try again. If that works, you have a graphics adapter software issue, and may need to upgrade your OS.

Thanks.  I did load the 6.12 and it still won't play.  Not sure if there is a limit on the number of slides one can do?  If it involves a new OS upgrade, that's where my "vintage" Mac falls apart, since can't load Sierra.  I have El Capitan.  I've also tried turning on and off GPU, but still won't play.  It's a puzzle, since it was working before.

I tested Slide Show on my Mac Book Pro Retina with 8 Gb of memory and 512 Gb disk space - latest LR and OS version,  a few days ago, when the disk was "full".  Generating seemed to stop somewhere in the middle of the numbers of photographs. Yesterday I moved all photographs from this summer to an external disk. I have a lot of free space on the disk now. Today I tested Slide Show with 164 photographs in the slide show, with a lot of extras added, like intro and ending screen, back drop colour, stroke border, cast shadow, Identity plate overlay, text overlay,  background colour and music. When pressing the Play button in Slide Show, it started playing almost instantly. To me It looks like free disk space is important. At least, it made important difference in my case.

Thanks. I have plenty of room on my hard drive. I'll try to move the pictures to one of my external Lacie drives. If I do that, hopefully I'll still be able to export the slideshow to DVD.
