Lightroom slideshow with small images has three different ways to render

With 6.12, if you create a 720p slideshow with a 500 px high image, there are multiple ways Lightroom show the image to you in a slideshow. For example, with the guides at 20px and an aspect of 16:9:

If you press 'preview', you get a zoomed image that fills to the layout guides at 20px from the edge, as expected.

If you press 'play', you get a large black box that fills to the layout guides at 20px, but the image is much smaller and not zoomed

If you export the slideshow as a video, you just get the small image from the 'play', without the large black box, and the guides are completely ignored.

'Zoom to fill frame' changes this behaviour but is not a fix because it throws out part of the image.
