Since Lightroom was first launched I have been frustrated that there is no keyboard stroke/shortcut for 'Show All Photographs'. If one has a lot of folders or collections it is often necessary to scroll or close panels in order to click on the 'All Photographs' command in the Catalog panel. Even in solo mode an extra click is still required to open the Catalog panel and locate the Show All Photographs control. Alternatively there is a good pop up navigation control on top of the filmstrip but this disappears if the filmstrip is closed which it often is in order to maximise thumbnail space when browsing through records.  The keystroke 'Command B’ takes you to your target collection and so logically I'm always wanting to use something like ‘Command A’ to take me straight to All Photographs.
A simple request which would surely be quite simple to implement!

[CTRL]+[CMD]+[1] will open the Catalog panel from where ever you are in Folders or Collections without the need to scroll also.

Thank you, that is useful. However you still remain within whichever folder or collection you are looking at with only images from that folder or collection displayed in the grid. I see it saves scrolling but it is still a two steps process to have to press [CTRL]+[CMD]+[1] then click on All Photographs. Maybe I seem lazy but when I have a large quantity of image searches to do and I'm trying to move quickly between folders and collections and All Photographs in combination with various search filters it soon starts to become tiresome! There are many direct keystrokes and shortcuts for much more esoteric and rarely used actions in Lightroom so I still find it strange that this very fundamental control is missing. Most database/catalogues have an easy and quick way to go to the top level and display all records with a single keystroke.

The Any Source plugin lets you assign a keyboard shortcut to All Photographs.
