Lightroom: Should sort keywords in autocomplete dropdown by frequency / frecency / popularity

When typing keywords in Lightroom, Lightroom autocompletes keywords and sorts the suggestions alphabetically, except for a few recently used keywords which are given priority.

A much more useful approach would be to always sort keywords just like Firefox sorts suggestions when typing in the location bar, i.e. based on "frecency", a combination of frequency and recency. So, rank all keywords based on how often they have been used and how recently the were used.

This would be a huge boost for everyone who uses keywords, since there are many keywords we use often and with this approach we would rarely need to type more than one or two characters to find the one we're looking for.

Good suggestion.

While hoping/waiting for it to be implemented, you might try the Any Tag plugin, which lets you enter keywords very quickly by typing just one or two letters.  It presents the suggestions in recency order, and it lets you type the first letter or two of multiple words, e.g. typing "j e" brings up "John Ellis" out of a list of thousands of keywords.
