Lightroom: Running Windows 10 Pro (Creator Update) out of memory

I am running Lightroom CC 2015.10, Camera Raw 9.10 on Windows 10 Professional with the release version of the Creator's Update.

Twice since updating to both the Creator's Update and Lightroom 2015.10, I have gone away from my desktop and returned some hours later (once overnight, today for just 3 hours) and found an error message that Windows was out of memory and that I needed to close and restart Lightroom to recover the memory.

The only task taking place was Lightroom syncing with Lightroom mobile. The open module was the Library module.

I have been using Lightroom CC for about 3 months but I had not had this issue before the past week.

Do you happen to know if it was syncing a large number of photos? I've seen the out of memory in the past, but only when doing a big sync.

I don't remember about the first time, but the second time I think it was syncing about 85 photos.

Where are your photos stored Carl? Any network drives attached?

Hi Carl,

Could you confirm the build number for the Creator Build? That would really help us in reproducing the issue.

Thanks,

Hi Carl,

I have tried to reproduce this but I did not face any issue with Sync. I was on Win10 build 15063.138.

I was seeing an update to 16179.1000. I have updated to that as well.

Please try to see to update if you see it.

Also, what kind of files were you using when you were syncing?

Thanks,
Smit Keniya

I have checked Windows Update just now and I see no opportunity to update to 16179.1000 for Windows 10 Pro 64-bit.

I was syncing .dng files taken on my Android phone using Lightroom mobile.

I have not experienced this issue since posting it a week ago. When I posted it, I had experienced it twice but since then not at all. Perhaps some unknown factor caused and then alleviated the issue, I don't know - especially since you are unable to replicate the issue.

Thanks for your help, and if it reoccurs I will post again.

Hi Carl,

I will try this again with Android DNGs. Also, as Victoria mentioned, were the images stored locally or remotely(Hard Disk or Network Drives)?

Thanks,
Smit

The photos are stored on a hard drive on my desktop. There is no network storage involved.
