Lightroom now crashes, since the update whenever exporting an image using a preset or when using external edit. This was working fine until I updated this morning! This makes Lightroom unusable for me as I do these tasks every day. I'm using iMac 27" Retina 5K with El Capitan/OS 10.11

I installed LM 2015.2.1 onto my Apple Mac Pro with OS-X 10.11 (El Capitan) with all my images on an external Thunderbolt Drobo 5S drive.

The good news was that I was able export 379 edited NEF images resized to jpegs without issue. I have not tried exporting 2 sets at the same time when my problem with LM 2015.2 first occurred.

HOWEVER, I no longer have visibility of my main external Photos drive under the Folders tab in Library. Nor can I see any of the images from that source other than those added to Collections. I tried to import some photos from the same drive but the Import grid shows that they are already imported. This suggests that the images and in the LM database but the display of external links/folders is broken.

Looking at the NEW (buggered) import screen, I see that it no longer allows images to be added as Original Folders without copying them to another drive. If you want to Add you are not offered the option of keeping in the Original Folders or alternative. You just get offered a Collection to add them to. What has Adobe done to mess the existing interface and options? Why change?

This is a critical shortfall and is preventing me working!!!

Add at the existing location never offered rename or reorganise options - it always keeps them in their original folders. Are you thinking of the Move option, which did allow you to move them to a new location in their original folders?

The loss of any reference to the original folders is a disaster and needs to be corrected immediately. I have a backup from before I updated. The changes made to the import routines have caused me big problems.

I accept I may be mistaken on the second point. Import has always worked smoothly for me and I can't remember precisely how it operated before 2015.2.x. I know I imported a large number of images keeping the reference to the original folders. Only those I had worked and needed to bring together were added to collections. The collections still exist but all the other imports are inaccessible within LM. I still have the original, unedited images on a different drive.

On doing a fresh import, only the new original folder appears in the Folders list. None of the original do.

I updated to Lightroom CC from 4.4 yesterday. I can't export more than 3 files at a time. I've tried everything and it just freezes. The overall performance in the Develop module is also really slow. I have the latest MacPro on El Capitan. I don't think it's a hardware issue.

Could one of you experienced the hang on export confirm and try the following steps to try to resolve the problem?

Make sure that you update to Lr CC 2015.2.1. After that if you launch Lightroom, in the top left identity plate area, does it indicate that you have logged into Adobe CC or does it show "Get started with Lightroom Mobile" text. If it is the later, try the following steps:

1. Stop Lightroom.2. Open the CC app.
3. If you are not logged in to the CC app
    a. Log in to the CC app
    b. Start Lightroom
    c. Is it fixed?
    d. If not, if you check the CC app, are you still logged in?
4. If you are logged in to the CC app
    a. Log out of the CC app
    b. Close the CC app.
    c. Open Activity Monitor and find the CCLibrary Process, kill it
    d. Open the CC app
    e. Log in to the CC app
    f. Start Lightroom
    g. Is it fixed?
    h. If not, if you check the CC app are you still logged in?

No, all of those steps didn't work.

It still takes 50 seconds (!) for 1 single Tiff 16-bit to export.

Confirmed, the steps don't work. Still freezing when I try to export more than 7 pics at once. LR CC 2015.2.1 on MacOS X 10.11.1

Same issue here. LR CC 2015.2.1 & 10.11.1.

Can't export much more than 4-5 operations and walkaway from the app without it crashing.

Between the horrific bugs on the Mac OS and LR export issues I'm so frustrated!

Many, many people have rolled back to LR CC 2015.1.1 / 6.1.1, the last stable release: http://www.lightroomqueen.com/how-do-... . It's easy and you'll keep your current catalog and all your settings. Wait until Adobe cleans up the mess with CC 2015.2, and let others do the beta testing while you get work done.

Same problem. Latest version of LR on the latest version of Mac OSX.

Can only export 1 image at a time.

If I try to export a multi-selection of images (e.g. 10, 22), the progress bar appears but does not progress, 4 zero-byte files are created in the target folder, the beach-ball starts spinning and "app not responding" shows in the dock. Waiting does not help.

Please fix this soon Adobe. It wastes a lot of time.

Peter, many, many people have reverted to CC 2015.1.1 / 6.1.1, the last stable release of LR. See here for instructions: http://www.lightroomqueen.com/how-do-.... It's easy and you won't lose settings or changes you've made to your catalog. Wait until Adobe cleans up the mess and releases 2015.3, letting others do the beta testing.

Hi John,

Thanks for the advice. I have done the roll-back and am now back to a working LR 6.1.1. Just did an Import - so much better than the crazy new approach in 6.2.

I just hope that Adobe is hanging its head in shame. I think that this is the first time in 30 years of using technology in photography that I have ever had to revert to a previous version. Can't remember ever having done it before.

Regards
Peter

Unfortunately, LRCC 2015.2.1 doesn't fix the export problem for me. This morning I exported 16 files as jpeg from Canon raw files. No more than 4 would export before I would get some zero byte files that hung LR. I had to force quit. This happened several times. I had to export the 16 files in 6 batches in order to get them all exported, each time having to force quit after an export and then relaunch LR. Adobe, please fix!

If it worked in prior versions, I'd recommend that you roll back to the prior 6.1.1 update until things are reverted and corrected: https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/...

Good news! Adobe released Lightroom 2015.3 today and I tried it with El Capitan 10.11.1 and I was able to process and export NEF files to jpegs for two time-lapse sequences of 632 and 750 images respectively.

Great to hear! Just managed to uninstall old version and install new one under CC (another bug, CC tells me LR is up to date when it isn't). Have just exported 6 jpegs from 5 raw and 1 TIF and it worked!

Great news! The update's take a little while to push around the world, to avoid craving the servers, so it would have told you to update in the next few hours.

Actually with one of the versions last summer, CC never did prompt me to install a point release, just indicated that LR was up to date. Reinstalled the CC app but am not sure I will get timely prompts to update.

This issue should be corrected by the Lightroom CC 2015.3/6.3 which is available today.

The update appears to have fixed the export issue; unclear if it fixes the incorrect message that LR is up to date when it isn't.

Hmm.... I'm a little nervous about updating, I'm sitting happy with 6.1.1 6.2.1 was a disaster, traumatizing haha.
