Lightroom: Possibility to add a sort of "empty layer" to take notes of the things to do on the photo

Personally, when I use LightRoom on big series of images, I make a preselection of the best shots by marking them using stars and colors. However, I often need to note down (usually mentally...) the post-production steps I'm going to take later (in LightRoom and/or in PhotoShop). For steps I mean something like "fix the sky", "brighten eyes", "remove these pimples", "brighten here and there", and so on.

It would be great to have a sort of a tool to take quick notes of the things to do on each image, eventually by positioning them on the specific areas that need intervention.

Good idea - region specific metadata is an often-requested feature..

For the mean time, the only solution I know is to make notes in "whole-region" metadata, e.g. User Comment field (see EXIF or EXIF & IPTC metadata viewing presets).

Custom metadata is another option.
