Lightroom mobile: Problem importing pictures with same file name

When using Lightroom mobile (android) and importing a picture with file name DSC_0001.JPG first works fine. Delete file on mobile device, so the next picture gets the same file name - but different picture and date. Importing the new picture in lightroom mobile, even to a different synced folder, lets always import the first one. Even when renaming it in the desctop version and it is shown renamed in the app on android - it always imports the same first picture, but never the second.

Maybe I should explain a bit more detailed:
General: I am tested this behaviour on a Sony Xperia Z5 compact (Android 6.0.1) with the latest version of Lightroom mobile out of the play store.

Behaviour:
  • Make some pictures on the Smartphone camera. They are named automatically DSC_0001.JPG, DSC_0002.JPG, ...
  • Import pictures in Lightroom mobile (manual import) and sync
  • Remove ALL pictures in the camera folder on the smartphone via USB cable and PC (Windows 10)
  • Make new pictures on the smartphone camera.
  • Try to import (again manually) the picture in one of the synced folders on Lightroom mobile, as done with the first ones also.
  • When I try to import the new picture in a folder where the first one is not in - the old one appears also in this folder.
  • When I try to import the new picture in a folder where the first one is already in, nothing happens.
I would guess that this is a bug, as I am shown the new picture and I select this in the preview what to import, but it apperas the wrong one.

Any comment appreciated!
Markus

Hi Markus. I tried to respond a few days ago, but this forum didn't want me to do that ;)

I just wanted to confirm that you have the switch that says something like "don't import suspected duplicates" turned OFF? I always turn this off, as I think I have a better idea about which images are duplicates than Lightroom does.

Hello Alan,

thanks for your reply. I know this slider/button from the desktop version, but I did not find it on the mobile version on my Android phone, but also not on my iPhone. I agree that this could be the problem, but even if it would cause it, it would be a bug, as this is a totaly different picture and the only common thing would be the file name.
