For Lr to have a fully-fledged backup option which might look something like this:
a> There is a list
item 'Backup' maybe under the Library menu
b> When selected,
the user is prompted by Lightroom, "Which catalog(s)/library folder(s)
would you like Lightroom to Backup/subsequently Update on a regular (user
selectable) basis?" The user can choose a destination backup
location/drive which (when initiated by Lightroom) would result in a carbon
copy of the user's working folder/image files/.lrcat file being written to that
c> This 'Backup' dialog box might include options: 'Choose working folder(s)', 'choose Backup destination(s)', 'delete Backup(s)', 'restore Backup'
d> The user could possibly be given the ability to choose multiple backups and locations.e> After the initial backup/copy has been made, and Lightroom is subsequently prompted to update that Backup, it analyses the changes made since the previous update state and only updates files/folders with newly existing information.
