Counting the keywords entered rather than those being exported is useless for any serious stock photographer. I'm surprised this hasn't been addressed already by Adobe.

Agreed, while having a keyword counter show up when entering keywords is great, it doesn't at all help if you have a tree keyword hierarchy as not all the keywords that are going to be added to the final image are shown in the Enter Keywords view.

As a stock photographer, I need to know when I hit the 50 keyword limit for those keywords that will export with the image. It is critical for most stock agency submissions. Please show the applied keyword count when hovering over the Keyword Tags box with the Will Export option selected in the Keyword Tags dropdown.

It would also be nice to see an option when creating a Smart Collection that would allow the user to create a Smart collection based on number of Keywords associated with any image, greater than or less than a user specified number.

Also, an option in Grid view to show a keyword count on each image.  You already have a tag that shows what photos have keywords and you count the number of images that have a given keyword so it should be straightforward to add to each photo the number of (Will Export) keywords.  Then I can color tag them in Grid view or show a Smart Collection with X number of keywords or below and either way show just the ones I need to add more keywords to.  Just my tuppence.

I agree it would be good if this were built-in to LR. Meanwhile, two plugins provide that capability: Search Replace Transfer and Any Filter.
