Lightroom: Redraw and crashing issues (macOS Sierra)

Lightroom has been very buggy lately. I go to click on the adjustment brush and the program crashes and quits at times. I've also been getting lots of spinning beach balls, and when trying to adjust the white and black points when holding down the option key I've had the screen go black with all kinds of neon colors flash on the screen. Sometimes the picture breaks up completely and I get random squares showing parts of my photo in a disjointed array. Have tried rebuilding the preference files but the problem keeps recurring.I'm running Sierra on a Mac with the latest version of LR CC. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

It may help if we could see your Lightroom System Info. Launch Lightroom, and select Help > System Info... and copy/paste the text in a reply.

The other thing to try is go to Preferences > Performance... and uncheck "Use Graphics Processor" and restart. Let us know if the problems go away.

It looks like a graphics driver (GPU) issue.

What would I need to do to fix the issue? Is it something Apple needs to do, or is there something I need to do on my end to fix the issue? I did turn off the "use graphics processor" as suggested but wonder if that is just a temporary fix or will I have more problems at a later date. Thanks for any help you can provide. Appreciate it.

Issues of this nature typically requires GPU driver updates from the vendor.

Will try and look into that but not sure how to go about it as we don't have an apple store or service provider near us. Really appreciate your help.

On a Mac you will have to upgrade the whole operating system. You do that in App Store. If you have the latest Mac OS, you may try to turn off use of GPU. In Lightroom, open Preferences  > Performance, and uncheck til checkbox. Restart Lightroom, in order to activate the change. If that helps, your problem is a GPU issue.
Here is how you find your Mac version. The latest is Sierra, 10.12. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201260

I always keep my OS updated to the latest version as well as LRCC and PSCC. I've turned off the GPU and so far it's running okay but notice a slowdown in bringing up full size versions of my photos , however I would have days with the GPU setting turned on and it would run fine, while other days I would have all kinds of issues. Will see if issues return without using the GPU.

LR seems to be running smoother since turning of the use GPU option.
