So, little background, I'm a professional photographer. Been doing this for years, and I've got a nice LR workflow developed that has worked well for years. But today, today I'm stumped and it's driving me insane.
So, the usual process is to upload RAW photos to HDD, then render "Standard Previews" in Library (Which is medium quality, 1,440 pixels) and then scroll through and flag keepers. I can usually switch photo to photo near instantly and this has been my usual method for quickly culling. Been doing it that way for years.
Until now. Now, despite having rendered standard previews (and discarding any 1:1 previews as well as smart previews) Lightroom insists on, as I go photo to photo, reloading them from the RAW file and trying to do it at 1:1. My culling is now horrifically slow and I'm ready to pull all my hair out.
Before, I could cull in Library just fine having rendered standard previews. Now it always tries to load 1:1. Why?
This seems to have come about in the last few days, as far as I can tell.
