Lightroom: Incorrect update notification for LR 6 users causing confusion

LR 6 users are presented with the following incorrection notification:

In Adobe's terminology, "updates" are free, "upgrades" are paid. But as evident in the forums, many LR 6 users see this buggy notification and proceed to installing LR 7 (Classic), thinking it's a free upgrade. They're getting very confused (and mad).

It becomes harder and harder to believe that Adobe had a proper test plan for this new release, but they will be OK 'cos we are all pouring money in to them month after month. I just wish they'd put more of that money into decent management of their developments.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled LACK of Warning for purchased LR6.

Yesterday using Adobe creative cloud , I saw for LR; "new version available and as I did at each minor change, I liked.
Without any warning nor possibility to interrupt the process, the ppm remove my LR6 and install LR Classic.
Meaning I discovered that the classic one is not a simple minor release, but a version with a monthly renting.
You cannot find a procedure to explain how to return to the previous situation.
It seem to me to be a marketing abuse!!!!
I propose to Adobe to inform the user about the situation in ordre for him to accept or cancel this installation.
It will be then clear and more honest.
I was very upset about this situation. A way to force user tu move to the renting version

The release of LR 7.0.1 (Classic) addresses this issue:

Can anyone tell me where to get the standalone perpetual update from 6.12 to 6.13? The CC panel says my .12 is up to date as does the "About, Update" within the program.
Thanks in advance.
