Lightroom Classic: Import of photos downloaded from Apply Photos/icloud metadata processing issue

The latest Catalina update has completely changed the way they store photos.  Before you could access the photos and copy them to a different location to then import it into Lightroom.  Now I have to either download from iCloud or from Photos to then import into lightroom.  The problem is that the import puts it in a folder with date of download not in folders with the data to capture.

Is there something I need to do for Lightroom to pick the data of capture from the photo metadata?  or is there an iCloud/photos plugIn in development that can download the photos?

"Catalina" doesn't "store photos", your description is confusing. You can add photos to your hard drive using the Finder, or Photos, or Image Capture or Lightroom. Do you mean one of those? "The import puts it in a folder with date..." What import, how are you importing them, using Lightroom? You can import to whatever folder and name you want.

Are you sure you've gone to System Preferences/Security & Privacy/Privacy and unlock the lock at the bottom. Select Files & Folders down the left hand side and make sure Lightroom is listed & all of its checkboxes are checked? (If Lightroom is not in the right-hand pane, just drag/drop the app there, then check the checkboxes).

Hi Carlos,

I'm trying to import photos from Apple Icloud/Photos into Lightroom.   As a note - the photos aren't stored on my phone.
