I use keyword tags in Lightroom Classic to organize my photos. I don’t necessarily want these tags to be uploaded to Flickr, because they are irrelevant for public use and may reveal personal details. Please provide an option to not tag photos uploaded to Flickr.

Hi Dave! I also have many keywords in LR for personal organisation purposes. I do the following (learnt from Adobe Photoshop Hall of Famer, Ben Willmore):
  1. I preface all my organisational keywords with the exclamation mark (!), so I can easily identify them in the Keyword List.
  2. When I create organisational keywords, I untick Include on Export from the Keyword Tag Option. This prevents that keyword from being included in any subsequent exported versions of images tagged with it.

For e.g., I have certain hashtags for my photos on social media. I place them all inside the keyword container named !Hashtag which is configured as above: so the !Hashtag keyword is an organisational keyword, but the #bestofENGportrait keyword (for e.g.) that's within !Hashtag is not.  In LR's Keywording Panel (above the Keyword List Panel in the Library Module), all keywords including those with exclamation marks appear if tagged to the photo: so I can use them like any non-organisational keyword for keyword searches. However, when I export (including via a LR plugin such as it's own Flickr Publish Service), only the keywords without the exclamation mark appear on the image: so in my example, #bestofENGportrait gets included on export, and !Hashtag does not.

Hope this helps...

I'd just tweak that slightly and use a different character, because the exclamation mark is used as a NOT command in the text filters. I use the @ personally.

Thanks Victoria - makes sense, and I just re-tested it.

I have 42 images with !Hashtag jeyword attached. Searching via the Text filter for Keywords Contain !Hashtag returns nothing. However, when I modify the keyword to @Hashtag and filter for Keywords Contain @Hashtag, I now see all 42 images in th resulting search. So my statement above that !keyword works in searches was incorrect...
