Lightroom - Face recognition linked to keyword
With the new face recognition it would be a nice feature to have a matching keyword generated once a person is tagged in a photo. This feature could be toggled so those that don't want (or use) keywords would not have them generated by face recognition.

Ultimate would be to make it a two-way sync so that either a face recognition creates a keyword or a list of name keywords activates face recognition. One action would trigger the other - again, toggle the feature for those that don't want to utilize both features.

Names are already stored as keywords - a special type called People keywords. You can even filter the Keyword List panel to show or hide these people keywords, if you do or don't want to see them. So I'm not sure I'm quite following what you're requesting. Would you mind explaining a little more please?

Hi Victoria - love your work!

I just tried face recognition with photos that don't already have keywords and it does exactly what I was hoping it would do - adds the person's name as a keyword automatically.
Those LR people are so smart.

Victoria, is there any way right now to display those face recognition keywords (and any other) directly in development module? Right now, using the grid view in the library module to accept or modify recognized faces works well (except when doing it in "all pictures" view which is TERRIBLY slow). But - to check out if ALL faces have been recognized in a certain picture you have to enlargen each single picture, or at least click on it and check out the keyword list assignment on the right side of the screen. This is very very time-consuming. When you develop your pictures, you display them full-screen anyway, so it would be very helpful to be able to control keyword assignments directly in the development module. For instance, in that loupe view overlay... Is there any chance that Adobe implements this, or is there any third-party plugin that would do this?
Regards,
Gabriela

No, I don't know of any plug-ins that can do that Gabriela, and it's not built in, sorry.

Thanks for your fast reply, Victoria. I will post this then as a feature suggestion.
