I am currently using Lightroom 5.6 and trying to import photos from my camera card to my external hard drive. I am getting the error message: "Some import operations were not performed, could not copy a file to the requested location." I have copy highlighted at the top and am choosing a folder that is showing up in the destination area to the right. I do not have the backup to a second copy highlighted. I am on my Mac using OSX 10.7.5 and trying to put it on my Free agent external. I also double checked on the external hard drive the folders say that I have permission to read and write. Please help!! Thanks!

Amber,

Normally this type of error message is a permissions issue. In addition to checking the permissions of the destination drive and folder tree, you may need to do a Disk - Repair Permissions on that drive.

I went to do the repair and the repair permissions on that drive was not highlighted and I could not click on it. I also notice that the format said it was NT windows. Is that my issue?

Yes, you probably want to use a drive that formatted for a Mac.

It could be. Read is easy to do from Mac on an NT formatted drive. Write requires some additional steps/software. If the drive has to function in Windows and Mac, consider the eXFat format.

Are you going to format on Windows or Mac? And, realize that formatting the drive will erase all its data...

That data needs to be off-loaded or backed up before attempting a format.

I copied my files onto another hard drive and reformatted to Mac only according to the Seagate website instructions. It works now!! When I had purchased it originally, I went through the installation process with my seagate by using the windows and mac version and its upsetting to learn that I am unable to copy photos through Lightroom. I had no issues with my itunes library or other programs up until now. Anyway, its fixed! Thanks so much for the guidance!! I really appreciate it!

I am using Lightroom 6 and trying to import photos into LR. I am getting the error message: " could not copy a file to the requested location."I tried a new collection but the same. I went to an older collection and I could import my photos without a problem.
This massage  started after I had uploaded LRMogrify2.lrplugin. Can anyone tell me what to do?
