Lightroom doesn't show photos

Hi all.

I have serious problems with Lightroom Classic CC.

When I start Lightroom up it shows some images, then after some time the images disappear.

I then have to close lightroom. When I start again it shows the mages and works ok, although a bit slow for a very short time and then the images disappear again.

I have made a video of the problem (lousy quality):

https://youtu.be/KZUd4sUcBDo

Description: "Showing how the new Lightroom Classic CC is slow and sometimes won't display photos. The pause in the video showing the recorder is the real pause between closing lightroom and trying to start it again.".

I upgraded the catalog from Lightroom's latest "old" CC version. Notice how the RAM usage rockets and the D disc which runs Windows Refs filesystem also have a lot of activity going on when Lightroom stops displaying images.

I should note that Capture One works fine, and also the old Lightroom CC 2015.

Two hunches:
- Disc about to fail/really full? Do you have a backup of everything?!?
- Might be something in the area of preview creation? LR Classic does things to the catalog and the previews. Could be busy doing maintenance in the background? Have you tried leaving LR open over night and maybe manually re-create previews?

This is just a shot in the dark but because of potential disc error I thought I better post.

Hi David,

Thanks for reporting the issue.
Can you send us more details on your system configuration ?
Also can you reset the preferences once and check if it works for you ? Here is the link which tells you how to do it ?

Hi David,

Please share the catalog with us which is causing this issue.
Also once you have shared the catalog, do try to click on File -> Optimize Catalog... and see if this resolves your issue.

Note : Share the catalog before you go for 'Optimize Catalog'.

Hi and sorry for not answering before.
I have reinstalled LR Classic CC, reimported the CC2015 catalog and uninstalled CC 2015 before installation of LR classic CC. It solved the problem.
Now I instead got a sync failiure instead with the photos shot on my smartphone. But I guess I can fix that.

Thank you all.

Best regards David
