The 'on/off' switches on Develop Modules seem to be 'reversed' in action, unless it's me being stupid that is....I thought they were always up for item 'off' and down for 'on' (a bit like a light switch). In Lightroom 2015.5 this action seems reversed.

They have always been Up for On and Down for Off on my system. However, the BW Panel on/off appears to be to be broken.

HSL & Color seem to be linked (toggle on/off in one and it carries over to the other), but B&W is working independently.  Is that what you're seeing & referring to as well, Rikk?

When I have selected Black and White, and I toggle off the panel, I would expect it to return to color but it looks like it is turning on and off Auto-mixing of the B&W per the preferences...

Tom, Rikk. Here in the UK light switches are down for 'on', and mains power too. But maybe I just never noticed before....Sorry.

I think this is reasonable behavior. When you click on B & W in the HSL / Color / B & W panel, it first converts the photo to B&W, as if you had clicked on Treatment: Black & White in the Basic panel (you can see that in History)  Then it enables the Black & White Mix panel.  Toggling that panel's switch disables the Black & White Mix panel, but the photo remains converted to B&W.  LR 5 behaves the same way.

I suppose LR could have a rule that says: When the user toggles the panel's switch off, and the previous toggle on had done an implicit conversion from color to B&W, undo that implicit conversion.  Not clear to me that would be less confusing overall.

An alternative UI design would be to disable the B & W tab (grey it out) in the HSL / Color / B & W panel for photos that are currently color.   The would avoid the automatic conversion of the photo to B&W, but it has the disadvantage of all disabled (greyed out) controls -- users are left wondering what they need to do to enable it.

Reasonable perhaps, but unexpected - and inconsistent with all other panel behaviors. If I turn off the Adjustment's panel with B&W enabled, I expect the panel's influence to be removed - not a partial application of the panel.

Not sure what type of light switch you're used to, but for me, up has always equaled "on" and down has always equaled "off".

As far back as I can remember, Lr has always followed that same pattern with the Develop panel toggles.
