Lightroom 6: Crashes when using basic functions

Hi,
Using a 2 week old MacBook Pro 2017, Lightroom cc latest edition 6.0, have been editing just fine, have edited and exported approx 100 photos.
As the MacBook is new there is barely anything on it, I have not downloaded any add ons or nothing untoward just literally LR and Premiere Pro.
Yesterday the brush tool stopped working, will allow me to brush but nothing changes,
been on the MacBook today and total work time throughout the day on LR has been less than an hour, within that hour it has probably crashed 20-25 times, I was changing the saturation on greens at the most recent crash, previously it was adjusting exposure, etc simple things.
I updated to iOS system and updated LR and it still crashes. I can only work on a photo for less than 5 minutes and it crashes, I don't know what to do, I am really gutted, and I have seen that it is inaccessible to get in touch with adobe themselves.
Any help and advice would be welcome.

Go to Help>System Info... and get your exact Lightroom version. 6.0 is very old 6.14 is current. You may need to update your system.

Yeah I noticed this now and updated it, I think it has only crashed once or twice since but the brush still won't work :(

Check the flow and opacity on the brush. Also, make sure your adjustment slider is set for enough to show a change when brushing.
