Lightroom 2015.3: Crashes Constantly When Tethered to Canon (and perhaps others?)

Lightroom constantly crashes when tethered:

i am using lightroom cc2015.3 9.3 tethered to several different canon cameras (5dm3, 5ds, 1dsm3) and it is constantly crashing (as in every few minutes!). it has become practically unusable. the most common immediate precursor to the crash is use of the left arrow (to navigate to the previous image) or when switching modules (e.g. from grid to develop or back again). but other actions will also cause crash. this has been happening ever since the upgrade by apple to el capitan and was not fixed when adobe finally released the latest upgrade to lightroom (adding support for the 5ds which had been around for months!!!!).

this seems absurdly ridiculous to me. there must be thousands of photographers tethering with canon and lightroom and i see a lot of other people are having this problem. the fact that it took adobe so long to even support the 5ds is bad enough but that they don't even devote the necessary resources to fix this problem in a timely fashion is really not fair. i am still paying full price for my cloud membership and getting beta version products in return. please up your game adobe. am going to have to switch to capture one any day now as this is not a viable working situation!! help!!!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!

This should be fixed in today's Lightroom CC 2015.5/6.5 update.
