Lightroom: Clone/heal tool gets stuck (Mac OS X 10.11.3)

Often when I try using the clone or heal tool, the crosshair will follow the mouse cursor for a bit as it enters the image. After about 0,5 seconds the crosshair then get stuck in place. As I move the mouse cursor out of the image and back again, it will reset and follow me for a bit, then get stuck again. I'm on El Capitan 10.11.3.

Do you have the latest update installed (Lightroom CC 2015.4/6.4)? What are the pixel dimensions of your screen?

Yes, Lightroom version is CC 2015.4. Resolution is set to default for Macbook Pro Retina 13', so that should be 2560x1600 pixels.

Does this happen with all files? Or only files with a lot of spotting/brushing and edits in them?

As far as I can tell the amount of edits does not matter. If I'm lucky the crosshair will
follow the mouse for a while, allowing me to make edits, but it always stops eventually. Most of the time it stops right away. All on the same image.
