Lightroom Classic: Plugin Round Trip Changes Sort Order

I periodically observe that when I round-trip from Lightroom Classic to process an image in a plugin, Lightroom changes the sort order from Filename order to Custom order when the round trip is complete.  This is undesirable for a couple of reasons.  First, you don't see the result in Lightroom, because it's sorted off-screen.  Second, I like to use the Stacking feature to keep the results with the source photos.  So, for example, an HDR image would be stacked on top of the source photos it was made from.  This is happening in conjunction with several plugins, including Photomatix, Landscape Pro, and the NIK Suite.  Are you aware of this issue?  Is there a fix or work-around?

I don't see that when using Capture time as the Sort:
I never use  filename as I want to see the images displayed in the order I took them even when using 2 or 3 different cameras.

In my case, if I do HDR or roundtrip Edit in PS, the created/edited image and the related NEF/DNG are re-sorted. They are placed at the end of the gallery and it really slows down my work flow to find them and re-group/re-stack them with the images they belong with.

That's not it which is why I posted. For example, it's taking the entire bracket shot at the beginning of the shoot and moving it to the end of the shoot.
