Lightroom Classic: Transform adjustments reset when adding preset

I apply a preset on import, then use auto straightening plus any manual adjustments, then sometimes I may need to apply a different preset. None of my presets have the transform adjustments checked, yet they always reset the transform adjustments I've made. And although I don't need to apply a 2nd preset on every image, and usually do the transforming last, it is still slowing down my workflow.

These were the steps I tried, Andy.

Create a Preset that includes a Transformation [Auto]
Import a photo and apply the Preset on Import.
Apply a different preset (which contains no transformation) to the photo after import.

Result: Transformation from preset applied during import is honored.

If you create a fresh new preset for your Apply During Import preset and a fresh new preset for other adjustments do they misbehave as well?

Rik,
That is not what he described. I haven't checked if I can reproduce it, but what he says is:
1: Apply a preset on import. I suggest you take Auto Tone.
2: Manually apply a transformation (so that is not part of the preset!).
3: Apply another preset.
That is what would reset the transformation, but like I said, I haven’t tried it yet.

Rereading you may be right about the steps.
Regardless, using your steps, the Transform is maintained.

Hopefully the original poster can give us some more detailed step-by-step.

Thanks for the replies.

Yes Johan is correct regarding the steps. None of my presets contain any transform adjustments. I apply my standard preset on import, and then manually apply transform adjustments. If I then apply a different preset (again, one of my own creation that contains no transform adjustments), it resets all the manual transform adjustments I had previously made. On all of my presets the transform adjustments section is unchecked.

Lightroom only started doing this after the last major update.

Did you try creating new presets and see if the behavior persists as i described in my first post?

Sorry missed that part. Yes the problem occurs even with newly created presets.

Well, there must be something special with your presets, because I can't reproduce it. I did exactly as described above:
1: I applied an 'Auto Tone' preset on import, like I always do.
2: I manually applied a Guided transformation.
3: I then applied another preset.
The guided transformation is still there...

Ok, so it seems the new presets I used to test, although newly created they must have carried over the issue as they were based off the old presets. I've tried creating brand new presets from scratch and the problem disappears. So it is a problem with the old presets and if the only way to resolve is to recreate these it will be a bit of a nightmare tbh, and annoying to have to do this really.

In case you don't know where to find them:

On Mac:
~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/Settings

On Windows:
C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw\Settings

Hi Johan, I can't find those lines in my presets. BTW these are Lightroom presets not ACR.

Don't worry I've found them. Didn't realise the location had changed. The process version was 6.7 which I've now changed to 10.0 and they are working now with no issues.

Many thanks for your help!

Hi Andy,

Does applying new preset resets only Transform Adjustments (or) Other adjustments too?

Thanks,
Bhargav

This issue has actually started again for some reason, and it also affects changes made to exposure which is also unchecked in the presets. Can't understand why it's started happening again, I've checked all the presets and they are definitely process version 10.0
