Lightroom Classic: Start up never ends (Win 7)

Hello,

since several weeks, LR never starts. I only see the LR windows with waiting pattern (moving circle). And that never ends.

I can't even close the LR window (normally nor with Windows Task manager)....

It concerns LR classic CC 8 and also LR CC (2015)

My system works with Windows 7.

I tried different things

1. Re-install LR

=> No change

2. I've loaded an old windows restaure point.

=> It has worked: I could open LR. But just one time. After that unique try I couldn't Start LR again.

Then I updated Windows to go to an updated system

=> No change

3. I tried to get some help from the Adobe forum.

At the end I've uninstalled all Photoshop applications before reinstall LR. I encountered a problem to uninstal an old version LR.4.4. And I still can't use LR anymore...

The link with detailed operations: https://forums.adobe.com/message/10952899#10952899

Can you help me ?

Thanks

Let's try a few debugging steps.

1. Reset Lightroom Preferences: Hold down Shift+ALT key when launching Lr. Click to reset the preferences.

Does Lr start up correctly?

2. Goto Lightroom>Edit>Preferences...>Performance, check off the "Use Graphics Processor" option, OK.

Hello,

thank you for your prompt answer,

I've ever tried this before. With no result.

I'm now at the point that I've erased all previous settings and LR software , but LR4.4 that I can't unsintall.

What can I do now ?

Thanks

Try one more thing:

Holding the Option (Mac) | Control (Win) key when launching Lightroom will display the “Select Catalog” dialog box which allows you to choose to open recent catalogs, choose to create a new catalog.

Hello,

I did it too. But the dialog box that is opening is frozen and unclosable too.

If you read my original post (and the link to the forum) you can see that I've used very radical solutions (all adobe applications unsinstall and then re-install).

But with no improvement.

Thanks for your help.
