Lightroom Classic: PDF for User Guide?

I can't find the PDF version of the Lightroom Classic User Guide -- is it available?

The PDF version is quite handy for those of us helping others -- searching it within Adobe Reader is more fruitful than trying to use the search box at helpx.adobe.com, which pulls in all sorts of results from Support, giving priority to videos (not relevant when you're looking for a quick reference), and providing no way to limit results to the User Guide only.

...and of course, the PDF is essential if you want to access help while disconnected.

Adobe no longer provides pdf help manuals for their products.

You have to use online Help for now.

If you are an adobe mvp or acp look in the ACP Topics forum for a thread called
Where are the CC 2017 PDF Help Files.

I'm an MVP but don't have access to that forum apparently. Was there an authoritative response from Adobe you could summarize?

Good news! It looks like Adobe is aware of the need for searchable PDF documents that can be used offline. I found this Oct. 16, 2017 post in the ACP forum by Adobe staff Tricia Lawrence Sr. Manager, Customer Care:

"I spoke again with them this morning and they are now in a position to get these back on track.  With the creation and testing, we are looking at early January when they will be available."

I do a lot of my work both in Lightroom CC Classic and Photoshop while travelling so some form of offline help is essential

I've sent another query to Adobe Staff who are monitoring the Help PDF creation process. As of right now the Lightroom Classic and CC User Guides are only available online.Probably won't get an update until Monday.

The Lightroom Classic CC Reference Guide (AKA Help) PDF has been updated and is available here:

https://helpx.adobe.com/pdf/lightroom_reference.pdf

The LR CC Desktop and Mobile (Android & iOS) Reference Guides are planned to be completed later this year and PDFs made available (Date TBD). For now this is the primary link for Lightroom CC online Help:

Hurray! It is so much easier to search the PDF than the online help.

I let Tricia Lawrence know we need a Lightroom CC Desktop & Mobile PDF for just that reason. At the link provided there's really no way to "search" the online LR CC articles and videos for specific items. There is a search box in the upper right-hand corner, but that's a global 'Adobe Support' website search and not specific to LR CC.

Take a look through the LR Classic updated PDF and see if it's missing anything. There seems to very little information on the new 7.3 "creative" profiles and presets. What do you think? Anything else?

You can refine the search results by product, e.g. "Lightroom CC", but the results still are pretty bad:

Adobe's videos for Lightroom are excellent as tutorials.  They are no substitute for and are virtually unrelated to Help.  It is somewhat ironic that we users have to push Adobe to support PDF files and Acrobat.  It is also surprising that after  so many complaints and the passage of so much time, Adobe has done nothing to improve the quality of their online search dialogs.  The product is great.  The tutorials are great.  The help support is terrible.

John, the Search Product Filter does help, but it still brings up a lot links outside the LR CC 'Help' category. I guess in the final analysis there's no Web based substitute for a PDF when trying to "search" for specific information. At least that appears to be the case with the site software Adobe is using. Anyhow, I've suggested making the LR CC Help PDF priority #1 rather than do it sometime "later this year."

There is now a new official Web page with links to the updated PDF Help documents for ALL Adobe products. Presumably when the LR CC PDF Help document is completed it will be posted here. There are also instructions for downloading the Help PDFs in other languages. You can copy the Help PDFs to a folder location so they are accessible from within the application (F1 key) when not connected to the Internet.
