Still broken on v.9.1 of LR Classic - any idea when it might be fixed?

Note: This conversation was created from a reply on: Lightroom Classic: Placing photos on Map module erratic and slow since update LR ....

Alan, I am going to port you to a new thread. The original issue was fixed in Lightroom 8.0 some time ago.  Please include your OS Version number and describe the behavior in detail that you are seeing so I can get an issue opened with the team.

Sadly not the case, I'm on the latest version of LR Classic and it is still an issue.

For those experiencing the issue please supply:

1. Your exact installed OS Version Number
2. Your exact installed Lightroom Version Number
3. A brief step-by-step method for creating the issue.

A video or screenshots would be of tremendous help too.

Thank you!

1. Version 10.0.18363 Build 18363
2. 9.1 Build [201911291132-64cf80b4] (for some reason you can't copy and paste this from the About box!)
3. Open Lightroom. Try to place photos on Map. Nothing happens. Try again, one photo at a time, still nothing happens. Contact Adobe support and eventually (after ~1h) be told to switch off Graphics Acceleration. Find it now works but you've lost the benefit of Graphics Acceleration. Contact Adobe Support again, be told your GPU isn't supported, despite your system fulfilling all the requirements at https://helpx.adobe.com/in/lightroom-classic/kb/lightroom-gpu-faq.html (ie Win 10, Intel Whiskey Lake, DX12 compatible). Issue still unresolved.

The current driver version for this graphics card is 12/18/2019 and version: 26.20.100.7584. Can you update the video driver and see if the issue is still present?

I downloaded the 18/12/19 graphics driver version you mentioned from from Intel's website but it refuses to install.  The Dell website still lists 26.20.100.7262 as the most current version for my laptop (XPS 13 9380). It does also seem a bit unlikely that it hasn't worked for a while and it is suddenly fixed in this version!

@Rick - even more shocking, Adobe have now closed the case with no resolution. Do you know any way to escalate matters as I'm shocked at such poor customer service.

Alan,

Without a case number upon which to act, there is little I can do. Do you have a case number you can share?
