Lightroom Classic: How do I organize presets?

I'm completely lost.

After 7.3 update, organizing presets is really hard! Why folder structure in C:\Users\***\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw\Settings is not updated in Lightroom Classic? How can I move multiple presets to different folder? How can I edit multiple presets? How can I edit folder structure effectively without slow renaming one by one in LR?

It is very frustrating. XMP presets are easy editable in batch by many text editors, but they contain line "***" which makes folder structure in Windows not working in LR? WHY?! What is it good for?

With the new presets introduced in LR 7.3, it is indeed harder to manage them.

To create a new preset group, you need to create a dummy preset and in the Group drop-down of the New Develop Preset window, select New Group.  Then move presets into that group before deleting the dummy preset (otherwise, the group will disappear).

You can move presets one at a time in the Presets panel by dragging them into a new group.  But you can't move more than one at a time.

As workaround, the Organize Into Groups command of the free Fix Presets plugin lets you organize your presets' .xmp files into folders using Finder / File Explorer.

Dear John,
I use your plugin for organizing preset in folders like Windows folder structure shows me. This is very useful and I thank you for that!
However, I'm simply not able to edit bulk presets. For example I cannot remove from multiple presets information about exposure editing or vignette or so on... This is very frustrating and honestly very user unfriendly. I guess a lot of photographers would like to have this feature.

It would be nice if Adobe released a profile manager similar to the X-Rite DNG Profile Manager. But for the new Enhanced Camera Profiles.

Cameron, yeah the Profile organization tools in ACR are a complete joke and in desperate need of a manager. I recently had to create ~150 profiles in ACR which were generated from 3D Lut and it was a nightmare.

I will try to use this thank you. I mean how can Adobe introduce such a bad design that end users have to fix it?

I agree with you. How can Adobe, a big company with a long history make such very bad mistakes? Now it's very hard to organize presets. Return folder structure to presets or make special tools in Lightroom to work with multiple presets at one time.
