Lightroom Classic export sequence number not incrementing

The latest LR Classic. User Presets - In the Export module, I created a user preset for export and edited the destination etc then the file rename section, selecting custom name and sequence. However the sequence number does not increment. When exporting a second image using that save preset, I am asked if i want to overwrite the existing file.

I have tried a number of variations such as one of the ready made presets - filename and sequence etc. Neither sequence nor image number increments, always asking if I want to over write.

It is also annoying that one can't edit a user preset later. I have to delete it and redo it.

Sequence numbers only work if you export a sequence, meaning that they only work when you select multiple images and export these all at once.

That is not true. You can edit each user preset, but how you do that depends on what kind of user preset. If you are still talking about file renaming presets, then click on the preset name and choose 'Edit'.

And if you are talking about the export preset itself, then make your changes, right-click on the name of the export preset and choose 'Update with Current Settings'.

Sequences - I'm sure there used to increment like I want. Oh well. As for editing, if I select one of my presets in the left pane and make changes to the details on the right, tthen click Done they are not saved. If I tick the box on the preset i can't change anything.

Like I said above, you have to right-click on the name of the preset and choose 'Update with Current Settings', not just click on 'Done'.

You also should not tick the checkbox. The checkbox is meant for selecting multiple presets, so you can export an image with different presets all at once.
