Lightroom Classic: Migrating photos to another drive

Is there any way to move photos to another drive (with another drive letter) without changing/moving a catalogue? I have to migrate my archive to an external drive and hoped I could use Find Missing Folder feature, but it does not work - I open an "old" catalogue and see no missing folders - they are simply absent!

After moving your images to the external drive, open Lightroom.  In the 'Folders' window you should now see a ?-mark next to the folders.  Simply right-click and select 'Locate missing images'.  This will direct you to a Finder or Windows Explorer.  Navigate to the new location and viola!  Lightroom will find your images.

The problem is -  when I disconnect an old drive and open a catalogue,  I  don't see folders already present in the catalogue but missing in fact. When I connect old drive back - they appear.

So if the drive is disconnected, click the missing icon, and choose Find Missing Folder. Point to the new location.

If it's connected, right click the folder and choose Update Folder Location
