Um, what about Lightroom Classic CC's performance on a high end computer? What computer do you have. Your icon says you're unhappy, but I think Adobe will want to know something more specific about it if they're to look into it.

This is my first time on this forum and I wrote a long note under the description box with a detailed and itemized list of my computers components which obviously did not get onto the post. I’ll have to back and try again.

OKay, hopefully I'll get this right this time. I bought a computer from Digital Storm and specified the best components I could get. The details are listed below. The only reason I didn't build it myself is that it had to be water cooled and I had never done that before.

Lightroom ran fine on it until about a year ago when Adobe released what they said was purely a performance improving upgrade. Since then, I have had real performance issues with Lightroom. Typically  they manifest themselves in slow performance. Moving from one image to another in the Library modules would take forrever. If I had a second monitor in Compare more, it was so slow in updating I gave up on it. It also would go into a "loop" f some kind necessitating the re-start of Lightroom. No other application I run, including Photoshop, has these issues. A few days ago, I was importing images from a card reader and was unable to do anything else as the message "Lightroom is not responding" was displayed. Even when it started to respond, if I tried to swith from one collection to another, it would take 15 seconds for that to happen and it would, once again, stop responding. At this point, it is almost unusable. I have ceased using two monitors. I have tried using the GPU and then disabling it with no improvement. I have an Intel App that gives certain applications more cores to work with and I have disabled that. Still nothing.

Here are the specs on my system:

Robert,

It is likely that somewhere along the way you had a bad installation.  Please follow these steps exactly and report back afterwards if you are still having the issue.

Close Lightroom
Restart the computer
Use the Adobe Creative Cloud App to uninstall Lightroom Classic CC
Restart the computer
Install Lightroom Classic CC via the Creative Cloud App without launching any other programs.
Restart the computer
Launch Lightroom

Wait 5 minutes

I did that and it appears to have worked. I had also deleted photos from the collection “All Synched Photos” nd May have messed that stuff up. When I was doing what you suggested, I also went to the synch tab u Dee preferences and deleted all synched photos by deleting my library on the web version as suggested there.
