Lightroom Classic: Scrolling in Library UI stutters / slow on macOs

I'm on a iMac 5K (32GB RAM, fast SSD, i7)
I just upgraded from ElCapitan to Mojave and installed the CC Classic Version of Lightroom to test the subscription model version.
- Scrolling in the library view is just stuttering. Far a way from smooth scrolling. That's very annoying.

- Lightroom 6 on the same Machine with ElCapitan: Scrolling a way better (not buttery smooth but smooth enough to call it a smooth scroll)
- Lightroom 6 on the same Machine with Mojave: Stutter when scrolling in library view too - but better/faster than Version 8!

So there might be two problems:
1) LR may not be optimized for Metal (and i don't know how good the OpenGL support is with Mojave)
2) LR8 (maybe 7.x before, i never had that versions) introduced something new that strongly affects the library UI

What i like to see:

- a solution for that problem :) of course
a) via an update that optimized for that system (it once was fast with the same resolution so there has to be a way)
b) or via some "internal hack" by deactivating whatever is causing this behavior with the new version (maybe there is some entry in some plist file to deactivate some feature or similar that will make scrolling fast again)

What i've tried:
- deactivate GPU support (LR Perfomance setting) and restart
- new catalogue
- online support with adobe (they edit cache settings, optimized catalogue, cleared cache etc.)

nothing helped.

There are some known scrolling issues that are specific to Mojave, and it sounds like that's what you're hitting. It's a WIP.

As of Lightroom Classic 9.2 and MacOS Catalina scrolling through the Folder list is still very laggy.  When trying to organize a bunch of photos involving sorting them into their appropriate folders working speed is reduced by a factor of 10.  Scrolling through the list of folder names should not have any lag, even with a big library.  The library catalog is stored locally on an internal SSD, some of the photos are on slower external drives, but the scrolling though the folder list shouldn't have to access the actual external drive.

I'm experiencing crazy lag when scrolling the library folders. The grid scrolling is a bit better as of last dot release but still chopping and skips around. Assume 10fps or lower. Library folder panel scrolling is probably 2fps. 

8700K 5GHz 6-core • 64GB ram • no other apps open • Radeon VII 16GB graphics (RTX 2080 equivalent) • 27" 4k monitor in 1440 scaled mode on Catalina 10.15.4 (4k native no-scale has same lag)
