Lightroom Classic & Catalina 10.15.5 tethering issues

Hello, I've just upgraded to Catalina 10.15.5, stupidly it seems, and now Lightroom Classic doesn't see my Canon 5D mk3 in tethered capture.

Please can you advise if this is an issue that's being worked on and when a workaround will be added?

After you connect the camera to the computer, does the Lightroom Classic's Import window detect it?

Thanks,
Sunil

Hi Sunil, sorry for the delayed response. The red light on camera comes on with a ‘busy’ message on the camera display but the laptop isn’t seeing it all.

So, when you open the Import window in Lightroom Classic, it doesn't display the camera at all.
This cannot be a tether issue. Your operating system doesn't detect the camera.
Is there a chance that you could change the tether cable and try?
Please specify the operating system.

Thanks,
Sunil

Hi Sunil, so the laptop sees the camera straight away but when I launched Lightroom it doesn’t detect it. The camera has a red light and says busy on its display.

My Canon 5DMk3 tethers fine on macOS 10.15.5.  Sounds like you have another program accessing the camera such as Image Capture or Photos or Canon EOS Utility.

Hey Dude, try this it might work for you:

Go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy tab > select Files & Folders on the left, scroll to find Lightroom on the right and make sure all of its checkboxes are checked.

Hi,

Im Having the same issues on a Mac book Pro using 10.15.5. When connecting the Camera all's fine even when using Eos utility but as soon as i try Lightroom the software hangs and throws up an error.

Wires and USB-c Hub have all been replaced and tested plus the equipment works on other MBP's that are on the same version

Hi

I did the below and it sorted the issue:

Go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy tab > select Files & Folders on the left, scroll to find Lightroom on the right and make sure all of its checkboxes are checked.
