Lightroom Classic 7.5: Sync issues

I've been syncing between Lightroom Classic and LR Mobile on iPad and iPhone for years without problems. This includes adding RAW files via the Apple dongle on my iPad, making edits, and them syncing to my desktop for further work.

Two weeks ago, I installed LR CC to sync some profiles. Ever since then the sync between LR Classic and cloud hasn't worked properly. What this means is, any photo added to LR Mobile is uploaded to the cloud and can be viewed online - but is not synced with LR Classic on my desktop. Any changes to photographs on LR Mobile or cloud (edits and metadata) are not synced to LR Classic.

LR Mobile to and from the cloud works fine.

This is the state of my Sync Activity:

And the error message on all of these is:

bad argument #1 to '?' (number expected, got nil)

It's as if sync is stuck because of all these errors.

Things I have tried so far:

Log out and in to CC
Rebuilt sync data
Deleted all sync data and re-synced
Deleted sync prefs
Uninstalled LR Mobile on iPad and iPhone

None of these has worked.

My presumption is that LRCC has corrupted the metadata on a bunch of my synced photographs when I installed it for that brief period two weeks ago.

One other thing to note, and this is possibly not connected - a bunch of my photographs show a capture date and time in the metadata pane - but when viewed in grid mode sorted by date - the sort does not take into account the capture date and classes them as dateless - this is also happening in LR Mobile.

Setup

Mac running 10.13.6
LR 7.5

Does anyone have any ideas?

Same issue.
Seems to be limited to just my iOS photos. Get bad argument #1 to '?' (number expected, got nil) and this seems to freeze the entire sync.

All Canon captured DNG files sync from LR mobile to LR Classic. It's just my iOS captured JPEG's

Also these sync's errors do not show up in the Sync Error Smart collection.

For me the issue seems to be with all types of files from iOS to scanned TIFFS to Sony A7R's.

This appears to be a bug new to 7.5, but I haven't seen a reliable workaround yet.

hello victoria, do you have some news for us?
i read  a couple of threads with similar problems.
lr-android-app <-> lightroom.adobe.com <-> lightroom cc works fine and all photos/flags are synced.
but the changes are not synced to lr-classic-cc
(sync is on, no errors in sync activity, ...).

At the moment, the workaround seems to be rolling back to 7.4. I'm hoping it'll be fixed in the next update, which shouldn't be too far off.

I have similar problems. Edits on iPad and deleted photos not syncing from cloud to Classic cc. The changes show on ICloud.com.
I tried a work around that someone suggested and it works, but has to be done to each photo. If an edit is made in Classic and then changed back a lrmobile snapshot appears with the changes. That is not an answer to the problem.

Could you explain a little more about this? Lightroom's edits wouldn't be related to iCloud in any way I can think of, so I'm wondering how this would be possible.

Take us through your workflow? Are you getting this specific error message, or what's happening?

Is there anyone here from Adobe? I have been told for the last week someone 'senior' will call me within 48 hours - no-one ever calls. I have been told this every other day. Is Lightroom support always this bad?

Curtis, I just checked using the Adobe ID with which you logged into this forum and see no case reports for you. Do you have a case number you can share with me?
