Lightroom Classic 7.3: Why has the ability to remove default adobe presets been removed?

Now I have a bunch of useless adobe presets in folders such as color, creative, b&w, curve, grain, sharpening, vignetting AND all of the old classic presets that I deleted in previous versions.

a) why bring these back?
b) why can't these be deleted? you've literally deleted this feature
c) these presets are useless to anyone who's used lightroom for more than a day
d) I can't see my presets as all of the folders for adobes fill the list even when each one is minimsed

Does anyone at adobe run this things past actual lightroom users before running these updates??

All of these minor niggles with lightroom really add up to be annoying.

I fear Lightroom updates they're such a gamble, I guess at least this time the program isn't bricked.

I'll be rolling back to 7.2 for now.

Fanned and agreed! I want to see MY fave presets first. And I want to see new presets imported into their OWN named folder. NOT ALL newly added presets in "User Presets" folder. That's useless. For that reason alone, I'm going to revert back. Til they fix it. ALthough I love being able to see Preset preview in main window. No, I'm reverting back. IF I can.

I have found the paths to delete the Adobe presets on Windows 10.

See the attached pics to show paths. You can then delete unwanted preset folders.

The second pic requires show hidden folders to see ProgramData.

Hi Kevin,

I've had a look for that folder on my mac  and the Settings folder in Resources doesn't exist sadly.

Sorry don't use Mac.

I found the file locations (for windows 10) in a .dat file in the same folder as user presets are now stored if that helps source the file locations.

PROBLEM SOLVED!!!!!!

I found a solution for MAC USERS HOW TO REMOVE THE NEW PRESETS FOR LIGHTROOM CLASSIC.

Under Application > Lightroom Classic RIGHT CLICK SHOW PACKAGE CONTENTS > CONTENTS > RESOURCES > scroll down to find SETTINGS !!!

Now out of these 14 new presets from LIGHTROOM CLASSIC, you will find 7 presets under ADOBE and 7 under CLASSIC.

Click on ADOBE > PRESETS (NOT PROFILE) and delete all 7 folders. (make sure to count)

Then go back to SETTINGS > CLASSIC and delete the other 7 folders!

Restart Lightroom !!!!!

you're welcome :D

as if the people at Adobe want us to become 'instagram-like' filter users in stead of pro image-developers.
Use Adobe's presets, Use Adobe's creative profiles and you don't need to use your own presets anymore. The ability to delete the standard presets should be readily available.

Right. That ability is now available in Lightroom Classic 7.4.
