Lightroom Classic 7.2 problems

I'm running Lightroom Classic 7.2 on a iMac retina w/ High Sierra and am having tons of problems with Classic. In fact ever since the upgrade last year when the name changed to Classic and CC was announced I've had lots of issues that I never had before. Rather than list out a ton of random things I'll group them all into one category: unresponsiveness. For instance hitting a hot key and then waiting.... and waiting.... and... finally, some action. Hitting Z to zoom and and......nothing.....then.....finally.... Maybe 30 seconds later or more. In fact just doing any of my regular LR business requires long waits. It's almost unusable now.
Are other people having issues? Is there a known bug and/or fix?

Mac or Windows? What version of the OS? What are your computer specs? Is GPU accelleration turned on or off in the Lightroom preferences - Performance tab? Without any of that infirmation, all you'll get are some wild guesses.

I too am having the exact same issues with a Windows 10 machine.
Before the name change, no issues.... (I didn't use LR for a while and upgraded to Classic CC this week and it's terrible!)
Every single adjustment (whether global or local) can take up to 30sec to make the change... very frustrating and unusable really.
Can I roll back to 6.9?

In the upper left-hand corner of the LR screen make sure all tasks are 'Paused' as shown below. Also close all applications, restart your system, and then try again with just LR launched.

If pausing the 'Sync' task as shown above fixes performance issues observed after installing the LR 7.2 update please see the below link. One solution not mentioned is to take 'Sync' off of 'Pause' and let it run overnight or at least for a few hours when not using LR. This should allow the MD5 hash building task described below to complete allowing LR to perform normally.
