Lightroom: Changes to Processor Support?

HI Rikk,

Can you find out from the devs, why AVX and AVX2 support is missing from Haswell-E? It was there before the update.

2nd thing, is now GPU tests are failing where the previous version passed. If you made them more stringent, great! but it wasn't explained in the readme on the update.

It would also be helpful if LR could output diagnostics as to what test that would disable OpenGL support.

Note: This conversation was created from a reply on: Lightroom 6 / CC2015: Very slow UI response with background export(s) running.

The earlier performance degradation of AVX/AVX2 on Windows was due to a code generation issue in the earlier version of Visual Studio compiler.

Upgrading to the latest version of Visual Studio is out of the question for the Lr 6.1.1. At least the performance should be back to where it was for Lr 5.7. Rest assured the correct AVX/AVX2 performance optimization will be back in a future dot release.
